Join the Caregiver Support Group!
Are you a caregiver for an adult age 60 or older? Are you providing care and support for a loved one? Do you experience guilt or feel stressed and need a safe place to process? Caregiving is rewarding, but it can have an impact on your own health and overall well-being. From cooking, cleaning, keeping company, managing medications and doctor visitation, having these responsibilities and doing such tasks is fulfilling. However, the weight of such responsibilities can be a burden, cause symptoms of depression, cause fatigue, cause burnout, and bring up unnecessary thoughts of fears and worries.
Joining a support group is an easy step you can take to start taking care of yourself; by being able to talk to fellow caregivers, form friendships, and having a supportive group to share experiences and advice.
Watch the video below to learn more about depression and how it can be present in caregivers, as well as caregivers rights, and helpful resources.
