Most Classes: $50.00 per 7 week session plus $60.00 YMCA Membership

All Sports: Great for the beginner athlete, this program exposes participants to a different sport and a different skill set each week.  This keeps things fun and interesting while developing physical fitness and coordination.

Archery: Children will have the opportunity to learn the sport of archery while having fun with friends.  Emphasis is on safety and proper shooting techniques.  Children will learn and develop archery skills under the guidance of our certified instructor.

Basketball Instruction: Passing, dribbling, and game strategies are taught while children develop shooting skills.  YMCA
instructor leads them both through basic skills & drills.  Fun for all! Sessions available for grades K-7.

Be Fit Kids: A class designed to incorporate physical activity into the weekly routine of inactive students.  The goal is to increase activity levels and promote a fit and healthy lifestyle. Class includes cardiovascular exercise, stretching, abdominal training and some resistance training.  Programs are available for ages 10-12 and ages 12-14.

British Soccer: Our friends at Challenger Soccer provide top quality soccer instruction for beginners through developing players.  This is a great supplement to fall or spring soccer leagues to help hone and practice skills vital to successful play.

Cardio Kids: Children will learn the stepping stones to building a healthy active lifestyle through game play and cardio based activities.

Family Open Basketball/Teen Open Basketball: This is a free program for YMCA members only.  Our half court sized gym allows plenty of shoot around time and pick up games.  Good behavior and proper sportsmanship a must. 

Golf: A great introduction for beginner golfers.  Participants learn the game basics as well as the different strokes from driving to putting and everything in between, while developing a love for the game/

Beginner Dance: From Hip Hop to Line Dancing, African to Salsa this is a fun way for kids to stay fit and spend time with friends while learning dances from around the world. Grades K-8.

Kidsafe Karate and Self Defense: This is an ongoing program with a black belt instructor who teaches self defense techniques and personal safety. This is a unique pay as you go program.

Preteen Strength Training: A class designed to incorporate physical activity for students, promoting a healthy lifestyle and fitness while having fun with friends.  This class will teach proper exercise techniques and use cardiovascular and weight training machines under YMCA staff supervision.  Ages 12-14 years

Special Needs Basketball: Emphasizes fun, social interaction, and physical activity through the game of basketball. Participants with developmental and physical disabilities have the opportunity to learn the game of basketball while developing balance, coordination, strength and agility. Referral Required.

Special Needs Tennis: Participants with developmental and physical disabilities have the opportunity to learn the basic skills of tennis while developing balance, coordination, strength and agility. This class emphasizes fun, social interaction, and physical activity through game play. Referral Required.

Swim Lessons: Basic swim skills are taught by caring, trained YMCA instructors.  Class participants are divided into skill levels so that the instructor can provide proper instruction. Swimmers advance following the national Y program. Pool safety and the use of personal flotation devices may also be incorporated. Lessons are held at Cook College.  Programs are available for all ages and ability lessons.

Tennis: Players will learn the very basics of tennis indoors in a modified setting.  Beginner, Intermediate and Advance classes are available. Group placement is based upon skill level determined by the instructor.  Prerequisite skills are required for placement in Intermediate or advanced levels.  Grades 2-8

Tumbling & Movement: Children will learn basic tumbling, practice locomotor movements and be engaged in activities with hoops, balls, and bean bags that improve coordination, agility and physical skills. Ages 3-5 years


Fencing

Learn to fence while developing reflexes, strength, and concentration. Newcomers will start with the basic positioning and work their way up to dueling. Must be 8 years old. Click here for more details on the YMCA fencing program and/or visit the

All YMCA Programs Require an Annual YMCA Youth Program Membership ($60.00)

Registration Fee for each program session is $50.00

REGISTRATION INFO: All class registrations are on a first-come, first enrolled basis. A current YMCA membership is required. Full payment of class fees are required upon registration. Non-refundable deposit required for child care. Cash, credit/debit cards and personal checks (made out to Raritan Valley YMCA) accepted. NOTE: Make up classes will only be offered if the YMCA is forced to cancel a class due to inclement weather, instructor illness or unforeseen circumstances. Make up classes will not be offered for a participant’s failure to attend class. Any make up classes will be based upon availability and at the YMCA and Instructors discretion.
