Soccer
This instructional class stresses the development of foot work: dribbling, passing, kicking and game basics. Sportsmanship and teamwork are stressed as children have fun learning the game. Grades K-5

Messy Art
Children will enjoy expressing their creativity by using paint, glue, water, and other fun stuff. Use all the messy stuff at the YMCA. We spend 30 minutes creating and the last 15 minutes socializing and connecting. Ages 2-6 years. |
Adventures in Nature
This class offers a variety of hands on activities and loads of outdoor fun to bring nature alive. Learn all you want to know about birds, plants, animals and the environment through exploration and self-discovery. Ages 3-5 and 6-12 years. |
Basketball Instruction
Passing, dribbling, and game strategies are taught while children develop shooting skills.
Parent –Child Sports Classes
Parent must participate actively with child as YMCA instructor leads them both through basic skills & drills
Family Open Basketball/Teen Open Basketball
This is a free program for YMCA members only. Our half court sized gym allows plenty of shoot around time and pick up games. Good behavior and proper sportsmanship a must. |
Tennis
Players will learn the very basics of tennis indoors in a modified setting. Child must be at least 8 years old. |

Fencing
Learn to fence while developing reflexes, strength, and concentration. Newcomers will start with the basic positioning and work their way up to dueling. Must be 8 years old. Click here for more details on the YMCA fencing program and/or visit the

Parent/Tot Gym
Parent or care giver moves through a variety of stations with the child. Stations include the use of mats, balls, hoops, bean bags, movement, coordination and fun! |

All Sports
Children develop or improve skills in games such as soccer, floor hockey, football, basketball, kickball and a variety of other games. Children will have fun while learning the structure and rules of games. |
Kidsafe Karate and Self Defense
This is an ongoing program with a black belt instructor who teaches self defense techniques and personal safety. This is a unique pay as you go program. |
Tumbling & Movement
Children will learn basic tumbling, practice locomotor movements and be engaged in activities with hoops, balls, and bean bags that improve coordination, agility and physical skills.

Fitness Fun
This is not a sports instruction class but a fast moving fun exercise program for youth that will build endurance, agility, strength, balance and sports fundamentals. Join us as we work to fight youth obesity and teach healthy living. Ages 3-6 years. |
Floor Hockey
Have fun learning and playing this fast paced sport. Fundamentals of ball control, passing, shooting, goal tending and defense are taught as children practice their skills in weekly mini games. Grades K-5 |

Be Fit Kids
A class designed to incorporate physical activity into the weekly routine of inactive students. The goal is to increase activity levels and promote a fit and healthy lifestyle. Class includes cardiovascular exercise, stretching, abdominal training and some resistance training. Ages 12-14 years. |
Preteen Strength Training
A class designed to incorporate physical activity for students, promoting a healthy lifestyle and fitness while aving fun with friends. This class will teach proper exercise techniques and use cardiovascular and weight training machines under YMCA staff supervision. Ages 12-14 years. |
Family Strength Training
This class is a great way to get the whole family out of the house, incorporate physical activity into the family routine and work together to achieve personal and family fitness goals. Class includes cardiovascular exercise, stretching, abdominal work and some resistance training. Must be 13 years or older. |
Swim Lessons
Basic swim skills are taught by caring, trained YMCA instructors. Class participants are divided into skill levels so that the instructor can provide proper instruction. Swimmers advance following the national Y program. Pool safety and the use of personal flotation devices may also be incorporated. Lessons are held at Cook College. Programs available for all ages and ability lessons. |
Rock N Games
Agility, flexibility and muscle movement gear toward the preschooler. Improve communication, build strong cooperative and social skills, and interact with other children, also networking for parents all through interactive games, hands on activities. Ages 3-5 years |
Children’s Book Club
Story time with a twist. Enjoy a story, create a craft and play with friends. A fun interactive way for parents and children to spend quality time together and with their peers. Ages 3-5 years |

Morning Playtime
Preschoolers and their parents or caretaker, can play with a variety of toys and equipment in our gym. This activity provides a great opportunity to play with your child and connect with other parents. Ages 9 months to 5 years |
Preschool Dance
This class is an introduction to music and dance. The dancers will learn basic dance moves that will help them develop a sense of body awareness, rhythm and coordination. Ages 3-5 years |

All YMCA Programs Require an Annual YMCA Youth Program Membership ($60.00)

REGISTRATION INFO: All class registrations are on a first-come, first enrolled basis. A current YMCA membership is required. Full payment of class fees are required upon registration. Non-refundable deposit required for child care. Cash, credit/debit cards and personal checks (made out to Raritan Valley YMCA) accepted. REFUND POLICY: Memberships and camp deposits are non-refundable. Child care deposits are applied to the final month. Should the YMCA need to cancel a class series, or if a participant cancels prior to the first class, a full class refund will be issued. No other refunds or credits will be issued. |
